Overview

Semper Fortis Solutions, LLC (SFS) is looking for an experienced Solutions Architect with Systems and Software Engineering skills to support systems engineering, architecture and design including software development activities for integration and implementation activities for its customers and its own internal requirements.  SFS is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOB) which specializes in solving challenging problems in the information security, enterprise engineering, identity management, encryption management and cyber security business areas for government and commercial clients using our Agile service delivery methodology.

This position is for a hands-on technical Solutions Architect with System and Software Engineering skills.  The Solutions Architect is responsible for technical leadership and solutions implementation as part of SFS’s core engineering team.  The Solutions Architect will directly support SFS’s Chief Solutions Architect (CSA), Chief Security Officer (CSO), and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and will be responsible for all SFS hardware and software solution systems engineering, prototyping, testing and documentation.  The Solutions Architect will work directly with the CSA, the CSO and the CTO to ensure complete lifecycle solution development. The Solutions Architect will be comfortable with all known computer operating systems, concepts of virtualization, concepts of multilevel security including SE Linux for labeling, The Solutions Architect will be responsible for industry surveys and reporting on new target third party technologies, commercial off-the shelf (COTS) security products and (COTS) analytical security products.  The Solutions Architect must be comfortable working in classified government environments and must hold a Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Secret and Compartmented Information (SCI). 

Responsibilities

  • Review requirements for incoming RFI/RFP and assist with answering those requirements and working on proposal responses
  • Provide architecture design, drawing and whitepaper development support
  • Work with architectural models such as DISA DoDAF or other formal architecture frameworks
  • Be able to map a topic area, opportunity, RFI/RFP into a given formal architectural framework
  • Demonstrate comfort shredding RFI/RFP requirements into a spreadsheet format
  • Create architecture and design diagrams using appropriate tools
  • Be very comfortable with software architect, design, development using object oriented and functional programming methods and approaches
  • Understand encryption keys, PKI and Certificates
  • Comfort with Agile methodologies
  • Comfort with Object Oriented Design Patterns
  • Have an ability to evaluate COTS and GOTS solutions for industry survey purposes
  • Be extremely comfortable with virtualization concepts, products and approaches
  • Have familiarity with High Performance Computing Systems (HPC) concepts
  • An ability to communicate deep technical complexity in simple language
  • Must be able to talk to the seven-layer model
  • Some Data Center or Cloud experience (e.g. Amazon, Azure, or other)

Qualifications

Technical Personnel Management, Deep Technical Experience, Problem Solving, Documentation and Writing support, Adaptive to Change, Cloud Experience with Cloudera/OpenStack and others, Experience with VMWare, Citrix, Xen and other Hypervisor Technology, TCP/IP and related Networking, SAN/NAS/SMB and NFS Experience, Linux/Windows/Unix Experience, SE Linux and Labeling, Strong Capability in C/C++, C# and/or Java, Python, Angular JS or Node.JS, Web Services and API Development, Perl/Bash/Korn Shell Scripting, Apache Hadoop or Horton Experience, Apache Tomcat (or similar application server), Very Comfortable with Intel and Support Chipsets, PCI and related hardware architectures.

 

Experience:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in Solutions Architecture/Systems Engineering or related discipline with Software Engineering capabilities.
  • Experience setting up software development systems with JARVIS and continuous build scripts, JIRA, Git and related.
  • Background in Cloud or related data center technology including configuration management with systems like Puppet.
  • Capability to design/architect, implement and secure IT infrastructure in support of company operations.
  • Experience update, refining, building and testing custom Linux or Unix Kernels
  • Expert with C/C++, C# or Java, Python

Other Desired Skills:

  • Industry standard technical certifications in Red Hat (RHCSA, RHCE, LPIC) and/or SE Linux certification or MS Windows certifications or networking certifications,
  • Understanding, application and experience of encryption, Security Policy and PKI
  • Some experience with penetration testing
  • Some experience with setting up and running laboratories for software and hardware demonstrations
  • Demonstration some knowledge of Cyber Security Best Practices
  • Have some level of expertise in Cyber Security solutions
